About the Project

The Octarine Accord is casting performers for a new, live actual-play tabletop roleplaying game (ttrpg) show that blends improvised performance, collaborative storytelling, and tabletop role-playing into one immersive theatrical experience. Think: actual-play meets ensemble theatre, where emotional truth and quick wit matter more than dice rolls. You can read more about the series and the specific setting for this short campaign to the right (on desktop) or below (on mobile)

We’re building a diverse ensemble of 4-6 players to tell a 4-5 part story full of wonder, danger, humor, and heart. Experience with tabletop games is welcome but not required. What matters most is your ability to listen, share the spotlight, and co-create unforgettable moments. Our Founding Artistic Director, Andrew Roblyer will GM 4-5 live shows at at least two different local breweries.

Dates: Confirmed dates are Nov 14, Nov 21, and Dec 19. 1-2 additional shows will occur between Dec 1 and Dec 13, dates TBD.

Show format: Shows will be 3 hours long, performed live for an in-person audience and will either be livestreamed or recorded for upload to YouTube at a later time.

Game System: We will be playing with Daggerheart, from Darrington Press (aka Critical Role)! No prior knowledge of Daggerheart is required.

Session Zero: We will likely have at least one 1:1 meeting prior to the first show, and will have one in-person character creation session with the full ensemble prior to the first show that will be video recorded but not in front of a live audience.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome performers age 18+ of all races, genders, body types, and backgrounds. We would like an ensemble that reflects the diversity of Houston.
We’re especially eager to meet:

  • Experienced improvisers, storytellers, or actors comfortable thinking on their feet

  • People with a love of collaborative world-building and character work

  • Anyone excited by speculative fiction, myth, or emotionally rich ensemble storytelling

You don’t have to know how to roll dice; if you can roll with surprises, you’ll fit right in.

“Shards of Octarine: Echoes of the Fireheart”

A Live Actual-Play Daggerheart Show

Interest form deadline: October 19

Shards of Octarine

Across the impossible spectrum between light and shadow that we call Octarine lie countless reflections of reality. Each shard reveals a different world, refracting familiar truths through new hues of magic, myth, and meaning.

Shards of Octarine is a live, rotating anthology of tabletop storytelling; each arc a self-contained tale set within the Octarine’s multiverse of wonder. Some shimmer with high fantasy, others burn with science, sorrow, or satire. Every shard is a new perspective, every world a different angle of the same eternal light.

Come to watch. Come to listen. Come to remember that every story, no matter how strange, casts the same human glow.

The Fireheart’s Echoes

In the heart of the world lies the Emberwood, a forest alive with fire. Here, the cycle is sacred: trees burn, saplings rise from ash, and emberstones, fragile crystals of flame, are left behind. Emberstones are the breath of the Fireheart, a young and restless being deep below. Without them, no fire can be kindled.

The Ash-Born have tended this cycle for generations. They guard their flames as lineage, carry shards of emberstone to sustain hearths, and look to the Echoes who hear the stones sing. For them, fire is not only survival, but identity.

From beyond the mountains came the Fireward Expedition; outsiders who now call themselves the Ember Concord. They build in stone and steel, fly airships through the clouds, and offer new tools, new knowledge, even alliances they call Fellowships. Some villages have welcomed them, trading emberstones for metal and protection. Others hold back, fearing what change might bring.

Now, the Emberwood stands at a crossroads. Flames sputter in some places, emberstones strain in others, and the Fireheart’s breath grows uneasy. Villages weigh old ways against new promises, tradition against opportunity.

And into this moment of choice step you: travelers, Ash-Born or outsider, drawn into a story where every flame carries a lineage, and every ember may ignite more than fire.
