A Shards of Octarine Production by The Octarine Accord

Welcome to The Null Frontier, a groundbreaking West Marches-style tabletop RPG series. Powered by the Daggerheart System and set within the techno-organic ruins of the Motherboard campaign frame, this is not just a game, it’s a live-streamed accounting of a re-emerging world.

Launching May 2026!

The Null Frontier will stream live online, with recordings available on YouTube and via all major podcast platforms after the fact.

Additional content, including Gamesmith commentary and prep streams, after session debriefs with each session’s cast, and more will be available with a small monthly Patreon subscription.

  • In the Echo Vale, we live among the remains of a fallen civilization. Our reality is built on ancient polymers and shimmering data-threads, all overseen by the mysterious Motherboard. But a virus known as the Remnant’s Fury is decimating the valley, and reality-warping Null Points are beginning to tear through the strata of history.

In response, the administrators of the walled city of Buffer have launched the Intelligent Technomitigation Department (The IT Department).

Our guild of expeditionary agents must venture beyond the safety of the walls to map the Wastes, recover lost relics, and "patch" the errors in reality before the Null Frontier consumes us all.

  • The Null Frontier is a “West Marches” campaign:

    1. There is no fixed party. A rotating cast of 15+ professional Houston actors forms the IT Department. Every week, different agents team up based on their availability specialized skills and the specific "errors" detected in the Wastes.

    2. The actors decide the goals. Whether they are diving into the vast underground layers of forgotten civilization or climbing the heights of the mountains that surround the Vale, the players choose where to go and what to do.

    3. Every discovery is recorded in the Log. Every shortcut found or rift opened stays open for the next party. But beware; if a team doesn't make it back to Buffer by the end of the session, they are "Lost in the Wastes" until a rescue can be mounted.

    4. Every session is streamed live, allowing the audience to watch the map of the Echo Vale expand in real-time. You aren't just watching a story; you’re watching the reclamation of a world.

  • We are proud to use Daggerheart, the new fantasy tabletop roleplaying game from Darrington Press. Using its innovative "Hope and Fear" mechanic, the system allows our actors to drive cinematic, narrative-first action that keeps every stream unpredictable and pulse-pounding.
